At the age of 86, British grandfather John Herrington has become the world's strongest grandpa, setting a new weightlifting record. Herrington lifted 90 kilograms (198 pounds) in the bench press at a competition held in England, breaking the previous record for his age group by over 20 kilograms.

Herrington's achievement has earned him worldwide recognition and admiration. His story has gone viral on social media, with people praising him for his dedication, strength, and determination. According to the British Drug Free Powerlifting Association (BDFPA), Brian currently owns the British and World Records in the 60 kg class for male contestants between the ages of 85 and 89.

John Herrington has been training for 60 years.

"I used to lift 176 pounds at home, but nine years ago I lifted 330 pounds at the gym, I started doing it in the 1950s when I worked as a beach renter,"
Over time, like everyone else who works out, it became a part of his life.

"I also wanted to look good for the ladies on the beach so I'd try and get my arms as big as possible. I had a few memorable summers," he said.

Winslow says he plans to continue weightlifting until he's 90.
